PROJECT 2

Ljósfangi

Ljósfangi is crafted in just two hours. At its center sits a 300 mm optical Fresnel lens with a focal length of 400 mm, designed to capture light and project it into a distinct, focused beam. The lens gathers and shapes the surrounding light, creating a presence that shifts subtly with its environment.

The name Ljósfangi comes from Icelandic: ljós meaning light, and fangi meaning something captured or held. Together, the word suggests captured light — a fitting description for an object whose purpose is to gather light and give it form.

Íshaugur
€70.00

Íshaugur is designed and crafted in just 30 minutes, a bold statement against mass production. Its sculptural form, inspired by a pile of ice cubes, casts a warm, inviting light that transforms any space. Each piece comes complete with a carefully chosen lightbulb and holder, ready to illuminate your home with a soft, comforting glow.

The name Íshaugur combines Icelandic words for ice (ís) and heap (haugur), evoking the playful geometry of ice piled together. Like captured ice, the lamp holds and shapes light, turning it into a tactile, almost sculptural presence in your home.

Designed by Fjölheim in 2025, The Bedouin Village marks the first in a long series of explorations. Each piece is shaped in just seven minutes, embodying a philosophy of speed, precision, and individuality. The project aims to create unique, handmade objects in Berlin that stand in contrast to — and compete with — mass production.
